Description
1976 Clos du Val Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Founded by John Goelet and ninth-generation French winemaker Bernard Portet in Napa Valley’s Stag’s Leap District in 1972, Clos Du Val gained instant recognition for being one of the six California Cabernets to participate in the famous Judgment of Paris in 1976, taking sixth place with their very first vintage. When stored under the right conditions, top vintages can age for decades, exhibiting old-school Claret-like characteristics when mature.
