Description
2009 Cote Bonneville Chardonnay Yakima Valley
Standing atop the steep hillside, gazing south toward the Yakima River, you pause to enjoy the view. The rockiness underfoot goes unnoticed. Perhaps its the prominence, the elevation, or the aspect, but there is a sense that this vineyard is a special place.

The current releases begin with the 2009 Chardonnay DuBrul Vineyard Estate which was aged 17 months sur-lie with batonnage in 50% new French oak. Aromas of buttered popcorn, baking spices, floral notes, melon, and tropical fruits inform the nose of a creamy-textured, voluminous, full-flavored, nicely proportioned wine that is likely to evolve for 1-2 years and drink well for up to a decade. Dr. Hugh and Kathy Shiels started planting their estate DuBrul Vineyard in 1992. It is now recognized as one of the finest sites in Yakima Valley.
