Description
Marcassin Three Sisters Vineyard Chardonnay 2006
Straw color. Discreet, pure nose. Lemon, stone, light sulfide and caramel. Packed in the mouth – simultaneously fat, ripped, sweet (texturally) and mildly chewy/tannic. Lemon custard/creme caramel flavors are both restrained and flagrant. It has power without weight.
Critical Acclaim
94 Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2009 Chardonnay Three Sisters comes from volcanic and sedimentary, fragmented soils. It exhibits the classic Old Wente clone nose of white peaches, damp stones, hints of apricot and brioche, and caramelized citrus. Medium to full-bodied and pure with underlying minerality and a nice layered mouthfeel, it should drink well for a decade.
94 Wine Spectator
Exhibits a touch of maturity in a rich, full-bodied style, expanding to offer a wide mix of anise, fig, honeysuckle and smoky oak flavors, unfolding gracefully on the long, layered finish. Drink now. 350 cases made.
